Safety first! Before operating, be sure to stop the vehicle, apply the handbrake, and ensure that the engine has cooled down before opening the hood!


1. Decode the “engine shutdown message”: Read the fault codes first!

Take out your OBD diagnostic tool (or borrow one) and connect it to the vehicle interface. These mysterious codes are often the most direct “informants” of faults and can quickly point you in the right direction for troubleshooting.


2. Fuel system inspection: Is the power source flowing smoothly?  

Key checks: Is the fuel pump “slacking off”? Is the filter clogged, causing a fuel shortage? Are the fuel injectors spraying accurately and without error? Ensure the fuel lines are clear of leaks and that fuel supply is continuous.


3. Ignition system must not fail: Spark is key!  

Carefully inspect the ignition coil, spark plugs, and high-voltage wires. Is the spark plug gap correct? Is the ignition energy sufficient? Don't let weak sparks or circuit faults stifle your engine.


4. Nerves and blood vessels: Check the wiring and sensors!

Is the power supply to the engine control unit (ECU) stable? Are the connections to critical sensors (oxygen sensor, throttle position sensor, etc.) secure? The smooth operation of these “nerves” and “blood vessels” is crucial.


5. Airflow Sensor: Poor Airflow Can Cause “Suffocation”!

If this small component is dirty or malfunctioning, the engine will struggle to breathe. Inspect its operational status, remove any contaminants, and ensure it accurately measures the engine's “every breath.”


6. Smooth Exhaust Flow: Don't Let Exhaust Fumes Cause the Engine to Stall!

Check if the exhaust pipes are blocked? Are the exhaust valves opening and closing normally? A blocked exhaust system is like covering the engine's “mouth,” which can easily cause it to stall.


7. Cooling system stays “cool”: Overheating is a silent killer! 

Is the coolant level sufficient? Is there any leakage in the system? Is heat dissipation efficient? Avoid the engine “shutting down” due to “overheating.”


8. Transmission system coordination: Don't let your “partner” hold you back!

Is the clutch slipping? Is the transmission malfunctioning? Transmission system issues can sometimes also cause the engine to stall. Check its operational status to ensure seamless coordination.
